How to Make a Beautiful Bonsai in 6 Months!
If you are new to bonsai and planning to make one in a short time, you are in the right article. Here bonsai-passion.co.uk will recommend you how to make beautiful bonsai in 6 months!
First of all, get to know the climate in your area and choose the tree species best suited to that climate. For example, this Bougainvillea tree is very suitable for tropical climates that have hot temperatures. The lower and hotter the geography, the more suitable it is for Bougainvillea.
Once you have selected the right tree, let’s now move on to the actual practice.
How to Make a Beautiful Bonsai in 6 Months!
January 2022, is the time when we relocate the trunk of a Bougainvillea glabra tree lying in an empty abandoned garden. It seemed to be a tree that used to be a fence at the venue.
The size is not too big, maybe only an adult’s wrist. However, it has the desirable characteristics of both bonsai and penjing, namely the bark of the trunk which peels off almost completely and displays a white inner color which means the tree is very old.
After asking permission from the owner of the empty garden, we cut it. Yes, just cutting the stem doesn’t take out the roots. This is a common cutting method for some easy-to-grow tree species.
When we got home, we planted it with exactly the same soil we saw where we picked it up, which was plain red soil with a little sand and gravel mixed in to have better drainage.
In March 2022, or three months after planting, the cuttings already have many shoots that grow elongated. We immediately cut off the elongated shoots in hopes of growing more shoots and flowers.
We also transplanted it into various pots to suit its appearance.
In June 2022, or exactly six months after planting, the tree was back with long shoots, but we didn’t cut them off and planned to let them stretch out to droop.
In the end, the flowers bloomed in unison and the appearance was filled with flowers.
This is what makes it beautiful and unique. With white bark that is uncommon on Bougainville and full of beautiful, pendulous pink flowers that fill almost the entire tree canopy.
That’s how to make beautiful bonsai in 6 months that you can practice at home. However, of course, the growth of each tree varies depending on the individual and where the tree is planted.
As I said above, you need a tree that is suitable for the climate in your area if you want to make a bonsai in a short time. The more suitable the tree is with the geography where it is planted, the more optimal it will grow.
Of course, a proportional bonsai is not made with simple tools, a relatively long time, precision, and a broad perspective.
However, if you only make bonsai in a relatively short time, you can use the method we have presented above.
