At Last

I get to see a large chunk of the leylandii hedge coming off. The guys have made an excellent job of it and now the patio and perhaps more importantly … the Bonsai will get a drop more light.

Sunshine (huh when it comes), will be on the trees for around twelve to fourteen hours from May to September. Shade will be by way of a couple of trees out of shot. The great think with Monkey pole type stands is you can switch trees round in a flash. I just need to work out how to cover part of the display area now for protection when some species such as Satsuki are in flower. It will also mean I can control watering with Pines in the ‘off’ season with some accuracy.

Right! They’ve finished and gone, and my buddy has arrived to shift the trees back into place now.

About Mike Jones

Having taken early retirement at 55 due to a variety of disabilities, I am now devoting my time to Bonsai and photography; the latter I am pretty hopeless at but getting better with time. I have enjoyed Bonsai for many many years. I offer help to anyone interested in Bonsai, or general advice about an existing tree you may have, or even wish to have. I can recommend an excellent nursery. Above and beyond all that you will read and learn …ENJOY it! I know I have.
